This module has really moved me a bit from my safe zone. I have had a bit of a challenge/setback with some of the practical in this module. While it all seemed easy enough, there was a technical hitch I came face to face with that required some human help. Thanks to Mick Prest and a one to one session this afternoon, I am back on track with my blog!
When I set up the blog, I did this through the CENet login. Last night, I continued with the module tutorial, set up a Twitter Account for myself, tweeted a couple of friends and got onto the Q and A hashtag. All of this was fine and I realised some of the possibilities for the use of Twitter in the classroom. I then went to add a new post on my blog and the problem arose! I was unable to add a post as I could not get into it to edit. I could see the blog but the dashboard was not allowing me to edit.
Mick and I sat together today to work out what was going on. He discovered that last night I must have logged in through Google and had not gone through the CENet login. This made a difference in being able to edit my blog as when I logged in through Google, my username was marietta.taliana@ceosyd.catholic.edu.au. When logging in through CENet the username is marietta.taliana@syd.catholic.edu.au. While this may seem like only a minor thing, the difference is that with 'ceo' in the login, Blogger treated me as though I was a different person. This is why I couldn't edit .... I think! :-)
Blogging seems to be a great way to journal and get feedback - this would be great in the classroom! I like Twitter as well but just wish I had some more time to play with it!
I think I'm now ready to move on to Module 3!
Go girl!!! Love the enthusiasm!!
